Effects of this medicine

This medicine decreases blood pressure through blockade of α1- and β-receptors, and prevents angina attacks and controls disturbed pulse by suppressing excessive heart activity. It also relieves shivering of hands, etc., through blockade of β2-receptors in the skeletal muscle.

It is usually used to treat essential hypertension (mild to moderate), angina pectoris, tachyarrhythmia, and essential tremor.
