Effects of this medicine

This medicine blocks the calcium channel to suppress inflow of calcium into cells, leading to expansion of blood vessels and decrease in blood pressure. It also expands blood vessels that carry oxygen and nutrition to the heart to improve and prevent chest pain.

It is usually used to treat essential hypertension, renal hypertension and angina pectoris.
