Effects of this medicine 

This medicine inhibits the binding of aldosterone to receptors which is involved in hypertensive effects, heart and vascular fibrosis, heart hypertrophy or ventricular arrhythmia.

It consequently shows antihypertensive effects and anti-heart failure effects.

It is usually used to treat hypertension and chronic heart failure (for the case of receiving base treatment such as ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonist, beta-blocker or diuretic).
