This medicine demonstrates antibacterial action against several species of Gram-negative and Gram-positive anaerobic bacteria that produce malodorous substances (putrescine, cadaverine) in the cutaneous ulcer sites.

This medicine also improves symptoms of rosacea by anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects.

It is usually used for sterilization of cancerous skin ulcer and to relieve its associated odor.

It is also usually used to treat rosacea.
