Effects of this medicine

This medicine facilitates expectoration by increasing airway secretions, loosening the phlegm through dissolution and degradation, and promoting ciliary movement in airway mucosa.

It is usually used for expectoration in pulmonary tuberculosis and pneumoconiosis or after surgery, or to promote excretion of contrast agent after bronchography.
