This medicine binds to lesion sites in gastric mucosa to protect by coating from the invasive action of gastric acid and also inhibits the pepsin activity.

It is usually used to improve gastric ulcer and gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding, redness and edema) in gastritis.
