Effects of this medicine

This medicine is a chemotherapeutic agent and shows antibacterial effect by inhibiting RNA synthesis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

It is usually used to treat pulmonary tuberculosis, other tuberculosis, nontuberculous mycobacteriosis including Mycobacterium avium complex(MAC), and Hansen's disease.
