Effects of this medicine

This medicine prevents and stops uterine bleeding through contraction of the uterus after labor and compression of blood vessels through actions on uterine smooth muscle.

It is usually used to promote uterine contraction or prevent or treat uterine bleeding after delivery of the placenta, in patients with uterine subinvolution, or after spontaneous abortion or induced abortion.
