Effects of this medicine

This medicine binds to nuclear receptors (PPARα) to regulate expression of targeted gene.

It consequently lowers triglyceride levels in the blood and increases HDL cholesterol.

It is usually used to treat hyperlipidemia (including familial hyperlipidemia).
