Effects of this medicine

This medicine inhibits vasoconstrictive effects of angiotensin II and decreases blood pressure with angiotensin II-receptor antagonistic activity. It also reduces the deterioration of the renal function due to diabetes mellitus by reducing proteinurina.

It is usually used to treat hypertension, and diabetic nephropathy in the type 2 diabetes mellitus accompanied by hypertension and proteinuria.
