Effects of this medicine

This medicine inhibits the terminal step in gastric acid secretion, called proton-pump, and supresses the gastric acid secretion.

It is usually used to treat gastric/duodenal/anastomotic ulcer, reflux esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and nonerosive reflux disease, and suppress recurrence of gastric/duodenal ulcer caused by low-aspirin medication.

It is also usually used concomitantly with two different antimicrobial agents for the treatment of eradication of Helicobacter pylori in gastric ulcer/duodenal ulcer, gastric MALT lymphoma, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, stomach after the endoscopic therapy of early gastric cancer and Helicobacter pylori gastritis.
