Effects of this medicine

This medicine suppresses abnormal activity of trypsin, an enzyme in pancreatic juice that degrades proteins, and prevents pancreatic tissue from breaking down, leading to amelioration of inflammation and pain in pancreatitis. This medicine also improves heartburn or chest pain caused by duodenal juice flowing back to the esophagus.

It is usually used to treat acute symptoms of chronic pancreatitis and postoperative reflux esophagitis.
