Effects of this medicine

This medicine decreases blood pressure by blocking β1-receptors. It also suppresses excess activity of the heart, preventing angina attacks and controlling irregular pulse.

It is usually used to treat essential hypertension (mild to moderate), angina pectoris, premature ventricular contraction, chronic heart failure (due to ischemic heart disease or dilated cardiomyopathy) and tachycardiac atrial fibrillation.
