Effects of this medicine

It is usually used for 

1) prevention of onset of venous thromboembolism in patients after orthopedic operation on the lower limbs, such as total knee/hip joint replacement or hip fracture surgery.

2) treatment and prevention of recurrence of venous thromboembolism (deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism).

3) prevention of onset of ischemic stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
