Effects of this medicine

This medicine exerts a cytoprotective effect by increasing the prostaglandin content and elimination of active oxygen in gastric mucosa. It also suppresses gastric mucosal injury by increasing gastric mucus secretion and improvement of gastric mucosal microcirculation.

It is usually used for treatment of gastric ulcer and for improvement of gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding, redness and edema) in acute gastritis and acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis.
