Effects of this medicine

This medicine exhibits vasodepressor and antihypertensive effects by α1-blocking activity in addition to β-blocking activity. It maintains and decreases vascular resistance to improve heart pump function and consequently provides sufficient blood flow to the body.

It is usually used to treat essential/renal parenchymal hypertension, angina, chronic heart failure due to ischemic heart disease or dilated cardiomyopathy, and arrhythmia (tachycardiac atrial fibrillation).
