Effects of this medicine

This medicine selectively inhibits HMG-CoA reductase of the rate-controlling enzyme which is involved in biosynthesis of cholesterol to inhibit cholesterol synthesis.

It is usually used to treat hyperlipidemia/familial hypercholesterolemia.
