Effects of this medicine

This medicine inhibits both isoforms (type 1 and type 2) of 5 alpha-reductase, suppresses the conversion of dihydrotestosterone from testosterone and decreases the volume of enlarged prostate.

It is usually used to treat prostatic hyperplasia.
