Effects of this medicine 

This medicine prevents gout attacks by suppressing leukocyte actions on the uric acid in the joints.

It also controls symptoms of familial Mediterranean fever by acting on microtubules and consequently suppressing inflammatory cytokine production.

It is usually used to prevent/treat gout attacks or treat familial Mediterranean fever.

However, it does not cure the causes of the disease in itself.
