This medicine improves symptoms such as hallucination/delusion, as well as strong anxiety and irritation, and stabilizes mood by acting on various receptors (dopamine, serotonin, etc.) in the brain. This medicine also improves manic symptoms such as uncontrollable excitation and behavior and depressive symptoms such as depressed mood in bipolar disorder.

It is usually used to treat schizophrenia, improve manic symptoms and depressive symptoms in bipolar disorder and treat gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting) associated with chemotherapy medicine for cancer.
