This medicine inhibits proliferation of fungi (Pneumocystis jiroveci) which is causing opportunistic infection of pneumocystis pneumonia to improve symptoms and suppress symptom onset.

It is usually used to treat pneumocystis pneumonia and to suppress symptom onset.
